Kaede Wood is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Somers, CT who attends Somers. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, high waist with a lean and projectable build. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Lefthanded pitcher, begins with a leg lift up past belt, slight back turn at top with a short arm action through the back, hides it well working to an extended three-quarters release point. Lands online down the mound, fastball topped out at 75 mph, mostly true in life, gets across body at release and creates some angle. Works around the zone, similar slot on curveball and shows short break to it up to 65 mph and flashed a changeup at 66 mph. Fields the ball out front in the outfield, big crow hop into release, shorter through the back with quickness to arm, projects with additional lower half into release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance with a high hand set and lower back elbow at the plate, upper body dominant swing, occasionally gets to front side early. Linear swing path through the zone, hits the ball out front, movement to hands pre-pitch, sound contact off the barrel when on time. Excellent student.
