Jackson Bates is a 2028 RHP/SS, OF with a 5-10 130 lb. frame from Pasadena, TX who attends Deer Park. Primary right-handed pitcher with a medium frame and lean athletic build. High-belt lift working from the stretch on the third base side of the rubber. Full arm swing to a 3/4 slot working direct down the slope. Controls the strike zone and pitches to contact challenging hitters in the zone. Fastball has late cut action as he gets to extension over his front side. Tunnels the curveball with solid depth and spin glove side. Projectable frame to add size for increased velocity moving forward. Secondary shortstop recorded a 7.70 second 60-yard dash time. Developing glove work on the dirt with solid footwork and angles moving around. Works through the ball in the outfield with a clean one-hand gather to exchange and online throws to the bases at 76 mph. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open wide base and short toe-tap trigger. Maintains his balance throughout swing with extension out front. Feel for the barrel with some rhythm in the swing and developing impact. Good student.
