2025 PG Virginia Indoor Showcase
Riley D'Angelo is a 2028 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-9 148 lb. frame from Sanford, NC who attends Northwood. Recorded a 4.13 second thirty yard dash time. Medium frame with lean build and strength present. Primary outfielder that fields in rhythm and off the front foot with quicker feet. Has a feel for the position with good zip on throws, recording throws up to 83. Secondary first baseman that fields with a two-hand gather to the chest with good feet. Firm glove and secures ball with some quickness to the transfer and a quick, short arm path. Also threw an inning on the mound. The left-handed pitcher works from a hybrid windup on the third base side of the rubber. Small step in front and uses a belt high tucked leg lift before working down the mound. Stationary hands away from the belly into an abbreviated in-line arm path and accelerating through a low three- quarter arm angle. Quick arm with a funky look. The fastball (1820 RPM) is lively with a low release height and good vertical. Sweeping slider (1976 RPM) to left-handed hitters and a tighter breaker to right-handed hitters. Flashed some fastballs with 20+ inches of run as the inning went on. Left-handed hitter starts from a narrow base with slightly open feet and a high back elbow with a high handset, utilizes a negative toe tap trigger. Pull-heavy approach with some loud barrels and whip to the hands. Long bat path with impact off the barrel and flashes of torque being created from lower half. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Named to the 2025 Virginia Indoor Showcase Top Prospect list.
