Braden Ventura is a 2022 C with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Swansea, MA who attends Joseph Case. Medium, square shouldered frame with some present strength proportioned throughout, additional room to fill. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set behind the plate, receives the ball out front, works into a tight and compact arm action, gains short ground coming out and can refine overall footwork, higher release on throws down to second base, carry will continue to develop working on top of throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and lower back elbow at the plate, shows balance to swing with a subtle weight shift through lower half. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball, keeps hands inside and can creates additional extension out front. Works on a mostly linear plane, line drive contact to all parts of the field. Good student.
