Tyler Shelton is a 2024 1B/RHP with a 5-10 220 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Liberty. Large physical build. Primary first baseman, stays in front of the ball well and is meticulous with his reads off the bat. Some softness to his glove work, makes accurate throws to the second base bag. On the mound, has a short arm action from. high three-quarters to over the top slot. Simple mechanics, fastball up to 67 mph, mixes in a large 12-to-6 curveball. Fills up the zone with strikes. At the plate, uses a conventional stance with a lower handset and a simple stride trigger. Large frame suggests his power tool will continue to improve. Good student in the classroom as well.
