Nicolas Torres is a 2021 RHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Atascocita. Recorded a 7.27 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium frame with long levers and some strength in the lower half. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates fairly simple delivery with slight hip turn into a belt high leg lift and shorter stride out to foot strike. Repeats well from a higher three-quarters arm slot, throwing plenty of strikes with his fastball that worked in the low-to-mid 70s for the duration of his outing. Attack mentality with ability to command both sides of the plate fairly well, flashing occasional cut to it and a slower curveball with high 11-5 shape and some horizontal tilt to it. Tough competitor that trusts his stuff and attacks the strike zone. Secondary outfielder with aggressive approach into and through the fielding process, gathering cleanly out in front and maintaining lots of momentum through release. Recorded arm strength up to 78 mph in outfield drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a wrapped hand set, high back elbow and small, inward stride to launch. Middle-of-the field approach with flatter swing plane and fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills. Will improve with further implementation of lower half. Good Student.
