Andrew Shepherd is a 2022 2B/RHP/SS with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Mitchell, IN who attends Mitchell. Young slender build with lots of room to fill out and get stronger.7.31 runner in the sixty, has good hands on defense and fields the ball cleanly out front, low arm slot throwing with developing arm strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a bent knee stance with an upper body rotational swing, has happy feet in the batter's box and tends to stride way open in his swing leaving the outside half of the plate exposed. Also pitched, rocker step/low hand delivery, long over the top arm action that is completely different than his infield arm slot, gets over his front side well. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, does a good job of throwing fastball strikes and challenging hitters. Very good student.
