Jake Newman is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 5-7 120 lb. frame from Washington Crossing, PA who attends Council Rock North. Newman works from a young lean build with plenty of time to fill out and add strength as a '27 prospect. Starting from his primary OF spot, he displayed clean glove work with a direct mid-line transfer to release quickly and on target up to 78 mph. He got to spots effectively with active footwork shown. Expect arm strength to further increase as Newman physically develops. On the bump, he utilized a hybrid windup with controlled calculated mechanics to ultimately top out at 71 mph. He released from a 3/4 slot with a looping CB also present in the arsenal. Offensively, the righty started from an open stance with a compact hand set effectively generating contact to all parts of the field. Newman swung with intent to create lift in the bat path with power becoming more of a factor in the future.
