Colin Hyer is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Millstone, NJ who attends Allentown. Recorded a 5.71 second forty-yard dash time. Medium, square shouldered frame with strong looking lower hand and room to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher; full windup delivery with side-step rocker into a belt high leg lift, later break of the hands and good lower movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 74 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Developing command of the strike with fastball that flashes some natural arm-side run and loose curveball that varied in shape. Will continue to improve with mechanical refinements and additional velocity. Secondary first baseman with fundamentally sound defensive skill set, clean funnel out in front and fairly quick turns to throw. Displayed accurate throws up to 69 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, narrow stance with a tight hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Two-part swing with developing feel for the barrel and elongated, flat swing path. Displays some consistency in terms of contact, impacting the baseball to the pull-side with authority. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
