Tristin Gaines is a 2028 SS/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Waller, TX who attends Waller. Tall, lean frame with excellent physical projection. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athletic actions with a quickness to the first step, quick footwork working around and through the baseball with a two hand funnel out front. Accurate around the bag with big arm strength and generates good carry across the diamond, recorded throws up to 84 mph. Secondary outfielder, similar athletic actions working through the ball that we saw on in the infield, throws come out of the hand extremely well with great arm strength, recorded throws up to 87 mph. Right-handed hitter, wide base with a low back elbow in the stance, downhill barrel path through the zone, short and direct barrel path to contact with developing strength. Should continue to see the power tick up as he adds strength onto the frame. Also pitched, side steps into a stomach high leg lift, compact arm action to a three-quarters slot. Loose and easy arm action with obvious arm speed, worked with a fastball heavy diet, sat in the low-80s topping at 83 mph (2024 RPM) with life through the zone.
