KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Adyson Evans is 5'9, class of a 2024, RHP/1B, 3B from Mason City, IA who attends Mason City HS. Adyson is a a solid player with a current skill set that certainly points to a big future at the collegiate level. She ran a 3.59 20-yard dash with a 1.21 5-yard split. A primary RHP, Adyson is powerful and athletic. She pitches with sound pace and a seamless operation, She has a long and consistent arm swing which allows her to work her very polished four pitch mix to both sides of the plate. Her fastball is pure power. It has some cut action late and is a noticeably tight spinner that plays up in velocity. It "sounds" like a good pitch! Her change-up is a big action pitch and is highly deceptive. CH has big spin and is thrown with FB arm action. It tumbles late. An advanced, very mature pitch for a HS sophomore. Her drop is a heavy, tight spinner that holds its plane early and has bit late with big down action. Her rise is a short, quick, late jumper that she works primarily to the glove side edge. This young power pitcher has BIG upside potential! Adyson also took a turn on the infield. She shows smooth and easy footwork that allows her to position well. Her glove is soft and sure. She has a routine transition to a powerful arm. Her 60-mph throws are firm, hold their plane, and are consistently accurate. Solid effort. At the plate, this RHH shows a powerful approach with a unique ability to bunt the ball well. Make no mistake, however, Adyson is at the dish to do damage. She has a slugger's swing path and she is looking to drive the ball a long way. She has a whippy swing operation and shows easy strength. She is fairly direct to contact and has a feel for the barrel. When she gets the bat on plane and on time, she hits the ball a long way. It gets out in a hurry, too. Impressive, projectable, college ready power! Adyson has a very realistic opportunity in front of her. Her future in the game is bright if she stays the course and keeps working at her craft. She has the projectable skill and appears to have a dedicated work ethic. Her positive body language says that the game is important to her! High ceiling. Big, bright future for the very talented player!
