Matthew Medina is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Downey, CA who attends Downey. Medium frame with a stocky, compact type build. Ran a 8.13 second sixty yard dash. Primary Third Baseman, sitting back on the baseball as he looks to keep it in front of him. Deep gather as he bends at the waist. Threw it 72 mph during drills. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, big side-step to a higher leg lift. Medium arm circle in the back and then released from a three-quarter slot. Ran the fastball up to 73 mph. Also mixed in a changeup that was very similar to the fastball both movement and velocity wise. Curveball with depth and a cutter that had arm side run to it. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced with a closed off front side. Stays short and simple to the baseball as he looks to generate bat speed with the upper half. Middle to pull-side approach. Outstanding Student.
