Copeland Dennis is a 2028 1B/RHP/OF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Christian. Primary 1B with a massive physical frame. Works well around the bag with good athleticism and hands. Fielded everything cleanly. Made proper turns around the bag and footwork is there. Maade clean pivots and turns going to second. Throws were accurate with good strength behind them and could adjust his slot well. Gets the ball out quick as well. Was up to 82 from first. Also played outfield fielding it out front and working through it well with momentum. Works through it and showed a strong arm with good accuracy. Was up to 87 from the outfield. Also played infield profiling best on the corner. Was up to 79 from the infield. Uses a deep two hand gather and funnel fielding the ball. Showed a strong arm and fields it upright. Was most comfortable at first base. Also pitched throwing from a standard 3/4 slot. Fastball worked up to 81 and was located with good arm side run. Went to a curve with healthy 10-4 shape and a slider in the low-70s with good horizontal bite. Threw strikes and was competitive in the zone. Also ran a 7.36 sixty. Right-handed hitter with a balanced base. Rocks the weight back and uses a small leg lift and stride into contact for timing and rhythm. Level swing path with good bat speed and strength off the barrel at impact. Swing tends to get long at times but when ball gets squared up it gets impacted with authority. Gets off his lower half well. Strong pull-side approach with power. Also hit in game. Good Student. Named to the Texas High School All-State TP List.
