2023 Summer Main Event Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Ty Carter is a 2026 OF/RHP, C, 1B, 3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Dunwoody, GA who attends Dunwoody. Medium, athletic build with well proportioned strength in the frame. Ran a 7.40 sixty-yard dash. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow and upright stance, small stride forward into contact, short and direct path with abbreviated finish to the swing. Worked to all fields well, has good barrel accuracy and can manipulate it. Primary outfielder, charges in hard and under control, breaks down and fields the ball with one hand on the side of the body, short arm action, young arm strength with a lot of time to continue developing it. Throws were accurate around the bag, recorded throws up to 72 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, stretch only delivery, works from the first base side of the rubber, full arm circle in the back to a high three-quarters slot. Fastball got up to 73 mph (1715 RPM) with solid command over the dish. Bigger shaped curveball was mixed, up to 61 mph (1460 RPM). Also worked out at first base, deliberate actions around the bag, footwork looked solid, fields the ball with a two hand funnel out front, long release, showed the ability to drop the slot and feed the double play well. Recorded throws across up to 71 mph. Great student.
