Grady Frese is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 5-10 176 lb. frame from Norway, IA who attends Benton Community. Thicker, athletic build with well-proportioned strength present and some projection remaining. Primary shortstop, gets a good first step on the baseball and stays low as he works through it. Covers ground well laterally and fields the baseball with soft hands. Can adjust arm slots on the run. Delivered accurate throws with good carry across the diamond while recording arm strength up to 87 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch with a leg lift up to the core. Utilizes drop/drive mechanics with a good push off the rubber. Separates into a full arm circle before accelerating into a clean three-quarters slot. Fastball showed life with some running action, ultimately peaking at 87 mph. Mixed in an 11-5 curveball with solid depth to it as well as a fading changeup. Commanded the zone well and kept hitters mistimed. Right-handed hitter, starts in a wider stance with a high hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing before working into a level bat path. Remains short and quick to the point of contact, creating whip to the barrel as he delivers it through the zone. Has plenty of strength in the hands with more power to project on moving forward. Posted an exit velocity of 89 mph. Ran a 5.33 forty-yard dash. Great student. Named to the 2025 Iowa Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
