Harrison Mears is a 2027 C/SS/OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Southport, NC who attends South Brunswick. Medium build with good present strength and nice twitch to his actions with a lot of time to grow. Ran the 60 yard dash in an impressive 6.97 seconds. Primary position C, starting nice and balanced before coming out of his legs a bit in transition. Very quick transition with smooth glove work, best when he let it happen naturally. Compact arm path creating throws up to 72 mph and a pop-time best 2.02 seconds. Secondary position IF, moving well on his feet, creating proper angles. Firm glove action securing ball and sticks his nose on the play. Good transition to excellent arm strength with throws up to 84 across the diamond. Reps in the OF, showing same good footwork and working glove off to side to field. Arm plays even better here with velocity up to 85 mph. RHH starting with a wider stance and in his legs. Flat bat over shoulder to start with bigger load into backside pre-pitch. Swings with intent, pull oriented approach creating good line drive impact. Athletic swing with emerging overall barrel control and all the components to continue rapid development.
