Defensively, Deija is a smooth fielding SS with range, and the ability to throw from varied arm angles. She works through the ball and shows good foot work around the bag. She demonstrated smooth transfers from fielding into her throws and shows off her athleticism with a quick first step and solid range.
Offensively, Cooper is a right-handed hitter who is tall and athletics. She starts in an athletic stance and goes into a nice load to start her swing. She has a nice swing mechanically and pairs that well with good patience and timing. She generates some solid barrel whip and pop. Deija did a great job driving the ball gap to gap, showing her awareness of contact points and pitch recognition. Her athleticism doesn't stop at her swing, she is quick and athletic on the base path as well. She has all the makings of a next level player!
