Christian Sandoval is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Mooresville, NC who attends Lake Norman. Compact young build with some strength for his age. Starts from a short side step into his delivery with a high leg raise and some lower half drift down the mound, keeps his hands tight to his body with late separation and a compact and quick arm swing, stays balanced and directional well at landing. Worked up to 75 mph with his fastball, worked up in the zone effectively and got above barrels. Works his soft curveball down in the zone consistently to change hitter's eye levels. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a compact inside swing path, works middle away and tends to hit the ball too deep in the zone, has some strength his wrists and would benefit from getting the barrel out front at times. 7.14 runner in the sixty. Plays first base and outfield on defense, still developing his fundamentals in the outfield, tends to field stationary and two handed, arm worked well throwing. Actions at first base were more comfortable and balanced, gets rid of the ball quickly and had good footwork around the bag. Excellent student.
