Gavin Gelso is a 2022 SS/RHP, OF, UT with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Flat Rock, MI who attends Monroe Jefferson. Medium to Large frame with wiry build showing some room to fill down the road. Ran a 7.19 second sixty yard dash. Primary Shortstop, showing first step quickness as he flashed some range. Gathers the baseball out front and then shuffles into throws. Arm strength starting to show as he threw it 77 MPH with accuracy. Secondary Righthanded Pitcher, starts balanced and then works into a slower, above the belt leg lift. Delivers from an over the top arm slot as he landed online to his target. Shorter arm action in the back as he went on to create some downhill angle. Fastball was up to 77 MPH with some arm side run. Also showed a curveball with 10-to-4 movements that he landed for strikes. Righthanded Hitter, starting from an even stance with a wide base. Proved he can create some leverage in the swing as he went on to show an uphill bat path. Bat speed showing as balls jumped off the barrel. Pull-side approach but can simplify and drive the baseball the other way. Good Student.
