KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Alexa Richmond is a 5'10, class of 2024, IF from Urbandale, IA who attends Urbandale HS. Alexa is a young, up and coming player who has a skill set that has a sound fundamental base and is certain to continue to improve over the next few years. She ran a 3.48 20-yard dash with a 1.44 5-yard split. A primary infielder, Alexa shows commendable ability. Her footwork is solid and she positions well. Her lateral movement is notably good. Her glove plays and she transitions well. Her powerful arm is excellent and her 59-mph throws are routinely accurate, Projectable ability on the infield. At the plate, Alexa shows a fine ability to bunt. She starts in a wider base and shows a fairly quick trigger. She has a flatter bat path and gets to and through the swing operation with pretty good timing. She has a contact first mentality and can move the ball when she is on time and on plane. Power could emerge with physical maturity and added strength. Alexa has the right idea. She shows a determined effort and high energy that should certainly play a factor in her game moving forward. With an attention to detail and a dedication to adding strength through a weight room regimen, Alexa is certain to warrant prospect status as she continues through her career. Sound fundamental ability! Bright future! Promising!
