Matthew Delaney is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Albuquerque, NM who attends Albuquerque Academy. Tall, athletic build with long levers and good projection. Primary right-handed pitcher, starts in a squared position with the plate, side steps into a belt high leg lift, slower tempo throughout the delivery, balances at the top and shows traditional drop and drive mechanics. Full arm swing in the back to a high three-quarters slot. Four pitch mix that he could command in the zone. Fastball has good life with arm-side run to it, commanded it to all four quadrants, getting it up to 89 mph (2266 RPM). Slider has tight horizontal shape in the mid-70s, flashed a curveball with 12-6 shape in the low-70s. Changeup had good fading action to it in the mid-70s (1599 RPM) that he commanded down in the zone. Easy to project velocity in the coming years. Excellent student. Named to 2023 PG Underclass All-American Games Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
