Matthew McDonald is a 2022 RHP/2B, OF, UT with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Temple, TX who attends Temple. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.21 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, small sidestep into leg lift, coils at gather, compact arm stroke to 3/4 slot, fastball worked 67-70 mph with straight action, 12/6-shaped curveball with depth, flashed straight change as well, threw strikes. Hits from even-based stance with leg lift trigger, clean hand path, stays compact through swing, middle-field approach with whole-field ability, solid game performance. Worked out in the infield, waist-bender with trapdoor funnel, low elbow throws across the diamond, can throw from multiple slots, clocked up to 70 mph. Very good student.
