Matthew Hornbeck is a 2021 OF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Lenexa, KS who attends St. James Academy. Long, lanky build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.22 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Displayed aggressive actions working to and through the baseball. Flashed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 75 mph from the outfield. Left handed hitter. Employs a slightly open stance with a long toe tap trigger and a high hand and back elbow set up. Displayed a line drive barrel plane to and through the zone with the ability to create some solid line drive contact to the middle and opposite fields when on time and squared. Good student.
