Jimmy Salas is a 2022 3B/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Whittier, CA who attends St. Paul. Medium frame showing current strength. 7.44 60-yd. Offensively works from an open stance with feet moving in rhythm early in the load. Utilizes a foot lift and hand pump loading up the swing flashing the ability to stay compact and quick through the zone. Rotated the backside well and when on-time ball had carry through the middle of the field. In the outfield showed his athletic build and strong-arm coming through the baseball well. The short arm was quick and carried over to infield work. Infield worked with lateral athletic actions and understood his timing well. Actions in-game played well at third base. Pitched from the stretch with the back leg leading him down the hill allowing for an average front knee lift and ability to rotate over a shorter stride. The compact arm was consistent through the 3/4 release and able to spot the fastball (up to 77 MPH) to the down and away spot. Curveball was a short spinning pitch that started through the top of the zone. Has improved metrics from last viewing.
