Cory Schilling is a 2023 3B/RHP, IF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Gillette, WY who attends Thunder Basin. Recorded a 7.00 second sixty yard dash time. Lean and athletic frame with strength present, projects well. Primary third baseman, moves with energy and plays low to the ground. Shows a clean glove with soft hands, good lateral agility and can make plays on the move. Throws have good carry across the diamond at 84 mph. Can play 3B at a high level and could play a middle infield spot as well if called upon. Secondary right-handed pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch and utilizes a medium length arm action. Comes from a three-quarters slot, lands open with the front foot and gets rotational at times. Fastball has downhill plane with arm side run, flashed a curveball with 11-5 shape, has developing command at present. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and high back elbow set, utilizes a no stride trigger. Shows an uphill bat path and looks to deliver the barrel out in front of the plate. Can hit for power and did so during the games, crushing a breaking ball to the wall in left field. Excellent student.
