Canyon Compton is a 2024 3B/RHP/1B with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Winnfield, LA. Large physical build with present strength. Primary infielder, glove works well to both sides and he does a nice job of fielding out in front. Is accurate with his throws across the diamond and his physicality suggests that his arm strength will improve as he progresses. On the mound, has a shorter arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Simple mechanics are efficient as he slightly hunches over into his mid to high leg lift. Mixes in an 11-to-5 shaped curveball with some good side to side bite to it. At the plate, uses a crouched, even stance with a slight sway back and forth with his shoulders pre-pitch. He finds good balance with his toe tap trigger and he creates some whip through the zone with a slight hand coil. Middle to opposite field approach with good hands that work to stay inside the ball. Great student in the classroom.
