Jacob Fowler is a 2023 C/RHP with a 6-0 140 lb. frame from Tuckerton, NJ who attends Pinelands Reg. Recorded a 5.30 second forty-yard dash time. Long, lanky frame with a high waist and plenty of room to add strength. Primary catcher with a developing defensive skill set; starts from a narrow, even base with segmented receiving skills and elongated transfer process. Works uphill out of the crouch position, while gaining some ground towards his target. Displayed developing arm strength up to 70 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch. Incorporates belt high leg lift with drop and drive lower mechanics to work down the slope efficiently. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s for most of his outing, topping out at 75 mph from a high 3/4's arm slot. Developing command of the strike zone with occasional cut to fastball and loose spin traits to his breaking ball. Will continue to improve on the mound with refinements mechanically and additional strength. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide, slightly closed stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and no stride weight shift. Displayed developing bat-to-ball skills with slightly elongated and round swing path, while working mostly to the middle and opposite fields. Contact oriented stroke with occasional line drive impact when on-time and in sync, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
