Andrew Mings is a 2022 OF/LHP, 1B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Chaparral. Medium frame with athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 6.98 seconds. Hits from spread-based stance, slightly open, lower hands with high back elbow, quick hands, strength to lower half, will drive the ball more as he physically matures, good hitting traits. Stood out in the outfield drills, light on feet and works through with tempo, clean hands at the ball, strong arm, clocked up to 89 mph on throws. Also pitched, works from the stretch, hides ball well to high 3/4 slot, quick arm, fastball worked 79-83 mph with angle and control, cuts the pitch, showed curveball with 1/7 shape and bite, good quick look with upside. Excellent student, named to 2020 West Coast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
