Brian Baez is a 2020 LHP with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Abelardo Martinez Otero. Long arms and legs, slender build with lots of room to get stronger. Works from the stretch with a slow paced delivery, lands closed and throws cross body to the plate, high 3/4's arm slot, can improve his direction to the plate for better extension and command. Mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Rare curveball is still developing. Body projects well but will have to make mechanical adjustments to take the next step.
