Blake Vande Vegte is a 2021 C/2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Orange City, IA who attends Unity Christian. Strong athletic build with present strength. Ran a 7.70 second sixty-yard dash. Low side saddle stance with good footwork from behind the plate. Flashed a low clean transfer with some quickness. Displayed arm strength and good release topping out at 68 miles per hour and posting a 2.22 second pop time during catcher workouts. In the infield displayed low fielding actions with deeper funnels. Displayed good arm strength with accurate on base carry topping out at 68 miles per hour across the infield. Right handed hitter. Employs a slightly open upright stance with a high hand and back elbow set up. Utilizes a middle to opposite field line drive approach with developing barrel control creating some solid line drive contact. Showed the ability to turn the barrel with good hands through the baseball. Great student.
