Andy Boyd is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA who attends Valhalla. Strong athletic build. Ran a 7.67 second sixty-yard dash. Works exclusively from the stretch on the mound, using a belt high leg lift and staying slightly flexed at gather leading to drop and drive actions down the mound. Creates and maintains good linear direction, landing in line with the plate before naturally falling off toward the glove side. Has a compact and looser arm action in the back before throwing from a mid three-quarters slot. Struggles to get over front side at times. Fastball in the upper-70s, up to 79 miles per hour, has some hard natural cutting action in to right-handed hitters. Shows advanced feel for a sinking changeup with similar spin to the fastball. Flashes some feel for a 12-to-6 curveball with sharp break and fills up the zone with all three pitches.
