John "JT" Costello is a 2026 1B/RHP/OF with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Longwood, FL who attends Bishop Moore. Extra big and strong build. Right handed hitter, starts from a wide base with a toe tap trigger into his swing, hands stay tight through his swing and could extend better through contact, turns hard and turns the barrel over, well sequenced swing that repeated the barrel well. 7.54 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has patient and practiced footwork, has nice feel around the bag, makes very accurate throws with good arm strength, will be an asset defensively. Also pitches, gets into his strong lower half well and moves down the mound effectively, smooth overall mechanics with good tempo and ability to repeat. Fastball sat in the mid-80's with nice run and sink. Curveball was late and short, also flashed a firm change up. Threw lots of early count strikes and was effective. Good student.
