Jabez Marte is a 2021 OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Peabody, MA who attends Peabody Veterans Memorial. Medium, square shouldered frame with a high waist, some strength to build and additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front and takes short steps moving to the ball, sees the ball into glove, shorter arm action into an extended three-quarters release point, arm strength and carry will continue to develop on throws with refined footwork, worked around the bag with throws. Left-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and a hand set away from body. Longer stride moving into contact, occasionally gets to front foot early, keep hands inside the ball with a shorter finish through point of contact. Upper body dominant swing, occasional lift to path through the zone, gets the barrel out front. Good student.
