2022 Northeast Prospect Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Owen Callahan is a 2026 C with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Mattapoisett, MA who attends Phillips Academy. Medium, athletic frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran an 8.00 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, some bounce coming out of crouch, compact arm action with a longer release which will quicken moving forward, direct mid-line transfer, remains tall with actions and can continue to implement additional footwork, maintains direction and shows nice accuracy on throws. Right-handed hitter, begins with a square start at the plate and even base. Stays short to the baseball and shows present bat speed through the zone, handsy swing and incorporates physical strength into swing well. Best on a linear path, occasionally gets downward through zone, shows ability to generate carry to the opposite field gap.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
