Owen Stewart is a 2022 RHP/C, 2B, 3B with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Elmira, NY who attends Norte Dame. Recorded a 5.30 second 40-yd dash time. Large frame with slender build and plenty of room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher with a very athletic, quick paced delivery. Starts sideways into a quick, mid-level hip turn and rotational drive down the mound. High energy, strike thrower with a loose three-quarters arm slot and lots of arms and legs coming at the hitter. Fastball worked in the upper-70s, topping out at 80 mph with late arm-side life. Shows ability to repeat and sequence well, using fastball to get ahead and mixing in a slurve shaped breaking ball at 72 mph. Secondary catcher with a developing defensive skill set, segmented receiving skills and accurate throws recorded up to 73 mph. Will continue to improve overall catch-and-throw tools with added strength. Right-handed hitter with a spread out stance, high hand set and inside-out swing path. Middle of the field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills, whip to his barrel and further projection as he grows. Interesting follow with potential upside on the mound. Good Student.
