Alex Gialanella is a 2022 C/1B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Carmel, NY who attends Carmel. Medium, square shouldered frame with mature build and strength throughout. Ran an 8.29 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, longer transfer out of glove, young footwork, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy down to second base. Fields the ball out front at first base with a wide base, moves well on the charge, longer arm action on throws across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open and spread stance in the box; utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger with a hip coil at top. Shows quickness to hands, upper body dominant swing, shows some carry off of the barrel when squared, looks to lift at point of contact .Very good student.
