Justin Ritz is a 2022 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Apo, AE who attends Lakenheath. Tall and angular young build. Gets tucked and coiled in his delivery, comes out of it well to the plate, low 3/4's arm slot, not strong enough yet to create arm whip but his arm works well from that slot. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, gets lots of consistent running life into right handed hitters. Tends to get under his slider and lose power and spin on the pitch. Can be effective from that slot with addition arm strength and refinement of his slider release. 8.08 runner, has the same low slot from the middle infield, moves through the ball well and has a quick release on his throws, second base tools and actions. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow open stance, stays open through his swing, short downward swing path, times the ball consistently and makes solid barrel contact. Very good student.
