Maxim Watson is a 2019 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 198 lb. frame from Brisbane, QLD who attends Iona College Brisbane. Strong well proportioned build, pretty mature physically. Side step delivery with an exaggerated leg lift and back lean, full body delivery that creates plenty of deception, extended 3/4's arm slot that creates angle across the plate, very unusual mechanics that he holds together well. Steady mid-80's fastball, gets both running and cutting action at different times. Slurve type breaking ball has some sharpness and was effective with late biting action at times. Only threw his change up in warmups. Very good pickoff move and picked off a couple of runners. 8.14 runner, first base tools on defense. Left handed hitter, exaggerated open stance with a big hand hitch load, difficult swing approach to time consistently, has strength in his barrel when he squares it up.
