Andrew Barreras is a 2021 OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Bronx High School Of Science. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 5.27 40-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball and shows quickness, actions will continue to develop, fields the ball out front, works to a lower slot on throws with a full arm action through the back. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a toe tap for timing at the plate. Employs a contact oriented approach, linear swing path through the zone. Subtle shift through lower half and can incorporate additional weight shift moving into contact, shows a handle for the barrel out front. Very good student.
