Cooper Devall is a 2023 C/RHP, 1B, OF with a 5-9 157 lb. frame from Sulphur, LA who attends Sulphur. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength to frame and additional room to fill out moving forward. Ran a 7.60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set behind the plate, receives the ball out front, gets tall coming out of crouch and can implement lower half into release, full arm action on throws, strides slightly open, arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, side step into a leg lift up past belt with a hip turn at top; short stride coming down the mound with a compact arm action getting to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 68 mph, stays compact through release and shows short running life to induce weak contact off the barrel. Stays compact with delivery and repeats. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; slightly open stance with subtle shift through lower half, occasionally gets mistimed moving into contact. Stays linear with swing plane through the zone, short finish through the ball with a long path. Loads hands at start of swing, some carry off the barrel when squared. Good student.
