Kyler Terry is a 2023 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Washington, UT who attends Desert Hills. Medium, broad shouldered build with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran an 8.35 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a wide base behind the plate, receives the ball out front and funnels into a full arm action, works to a higher release with slot, young footwork and will continue to refine overall mechanics, around the bag with throws. Similar arm stroke from first base, fields the ball out front and shows nice glove skills out front, short steps coming off the bag with balance to actions. Also pitched, side step moving into a leg lift up past belt; worked exclusively out of the stretch and gets tall on backside; compact arm stroke with a high three-quarters release point. Short stride down the mound, fastball topped out at 75 mph and shows cut action to glove side; developing feel for curveball, shows 11-5 shape when on top. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing on the box. Aggressive approach in the box, can keep weight back better through shift into contact, shows comfort working to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Long swing path with a linear plane through the zone, front side opens early on occasion in swing. Very good student.
