Andrew Carpenter is a 2021 OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Glendale, AZ who attends Mountain Ridge. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball to side, takes short and quick steps moving towards the ball while attacking, works to a lower slot on throws, utilizes a crow hop to gain momentum, can refine overall footwork, shows accuracy on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a bent knee stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; shifts weight through lower half well, occasionally gets to front side early. Looks to generate contact to pull side, flashes lift out front at point of contact. Incorporates physical strength well into swing, loads hands back at start of swing, occasionally gets uphill with path, shorter and direct path through the zone. Very good student.
