Codey Johnson is a 2021 C with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Cathedral City, CA. Large frame with an already filled out build showing some strength in the lower half. Ran a 8.31 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, sitting in his stance athletically and shows some flexibility while down. Receives the baseball well and proved to have some feel for framing it. Clean transfers on throw downs and released with urgency. Recorded a 2.11 second pop time during drills. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced with low hands before working into a low leg lift to stride. Looks to stay inside the baseball and drive it the other way. Proved to have some thump in the bat when he got extended out front. Good Student.
