Ryuya Kato is a 2019 RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Koto, TK who attends Nishogakusha HS. Medium build with square shoulders, young look, plenty of physical projection. Works from the stretch with a slow and deliberate leg lift start, strides way open coming down the mound, long and full arm action in back, 3/4's arm slot, will drop lower at times with intent, some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, gets some sinking life at times. Soft curveball that he throws often and has confidence in throwing for strikes.
