Dyson James is a 2020 1B/3B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Grove Hill, AL who attends Jackson. Large and sturdy frame with some present strength. Ran a 7.64 second 60 yard dash. Primary first baseman, sits back on the ball playing it into his body, hands and footwork are still developing, will improve with additional balance to actions, shuffles into release when needing to throw from the first base position. Righthanded hitter, sets up to hit with a wide base and high hand set, strides forward into contact while hands stay in a high loaded position, lands hard on his front side torquing his hips and generating his weight out in front well, long swing plane with juice to his pull side when on time. Good student.
