Slade Caldwell is a 2024 OF/LHP with a 5-9 172 lb. frame from Jonesboro, AR who attends Valley View. Medium frame with athletic, strong build; ran 60 yard dash in 6.76 seconds and continued to show well on the base paths. Hits from narrow, open-based stance with leg lift trigger and high back elbow in set, lightning fast hands with tight turns and excellent bat speed, gets barrel out front and makes consistent impactful contact, strength gains are notable and stand out in power gains. Worked out in the outfield, moves well and has efficient footwork, works through with momentum and no wasted movements, quick release with arm clocked up to 85 mph. Also pitched, hands over head into delivery, loads well and has athletic delivery, fastball worked 79-82 mph with low spin and running life, good deception to changeup with biting slider down in the zone.
