Slater Theisen is a 2022 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Temecula, CA who attends Chaparral. Big physical kid, working hard through the baseball in the outfield, on top of throws with lots of ground gained. Delivers with high effort and over the top slot getting well into the backside driving hard off the rubber. The fastball was heavy at 73-79 showing some arm side run when commanded on the inner half, occasionally getting around it generating some cut to the glove side. Breaking ball (66) displayed a round 11-5 shape with decent depth. Command needs some polishing, wavering throughout the outing due to the unorthodox jump off the mound ala Jordan Walden, Carter Capps-esk. There is definitely some feel to pitch but over exaggerated drive off the mound is hindering the ability to gain consistency of the motion. Good student.
