Lyric Oaks is a 2020 C/RHP, 2B, OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Sopchoppy, FL who attends Wakulla Christian. Taller frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a lower, slightly side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with smooth paced lower half actions. Loose, extended glove circle at exchange and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated occasional carry to the bag topping at 72 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.20. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions and pick up and worked through exchange efficiently. Stacks back side prior to released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced uphill carry to the bag topping at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance and medium leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Coils hands at load and works to baseball on a loose path. Utilized a line drive barrel plane through extension and looked to stay inside baseball at contact. Displayed developing feel for the barrel throughout the zone while employing a mid field approach. Also pitched showing simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays slightly flexed on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Generated good downhill plane through the zone while releasing from a high three-quarters slot, topped at 73 miles per hour. Consistently looked to challenge hitters at the bottom of the zone and induce weak contact. Good student as well.
