Jake Bold is a 2022 C/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from La Jolla, CA who attends La Jolla Country Day. Medium frame with a strong build. Ran a 7.29 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Sets up in a low side straddle stance behind the plate. Receives the ball out front and staying compact in actions. Short arm circle in back with a quick release and gain ground out of the stance with a strong lower half. Makes accurate throws down to the bag topping out at 73 miles per hour and popping a 2.06 during workouts. Righthanded hitter with a wide base and high hand set. Short to the ball with strength in hands at the point of contact. Uphill path through the zone looking to impact the ball. Has some strength in lower half and can create hard jump off the barrel when squared up. Excellent student as well. Named to the 2018 California Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
