Christopher Sanchez is a 2020 SS/OF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Coral Gables Senior. Medium, athletic frame with athleticism and room to fill throughout. Recorded a 7.29 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with an athletic approach to the ball, stays low and through it, receives well and cleanly to both sides, loose arm with accurate throws and a good release. Secondary outfielder, stays on line with his body, fields it well out front, quick and clean transfer with on line throws. Also pitched at this event with an easy delivery and feel for the strike zone with a three pitch mix. Works to a high three-quarters slot release, fastball got on hitters and topped out at 79 mph, shows a feel to set up hitters with three-pitch mix; curveball shows tight rotation and bite with 11-5 shape. Right-handed hitter, sets up with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Short weight shift through lower half, remains short and direct to the ball with swing path, creates occasional lift. Can incorporate additional lower half into swing, shows carry on line drive contact and creates extension. Good student.
